1 - My doctor wants to start me on Byetta and told me to do some research before our next appointment. I am a school teacher and am concerned about the nausea and fatigue. Can I start taking this drug while school is in session or wait to start it in the summer when school is out? (Comment this)

2 - GayLynne Hartley, Welcome. It's hard to say which would be best because everyone reacts different to the spit. I know two friends who have had no problems and I had alot of nausea and fatigue. The only thing I can think of is to try it out when you are on a break from school, like during the holidays, and see how you are going to react. If I had known about the acid/alkaline connection I know I would not have had as much nausea. Check out a local vitamin store and see if they stock the book "Alkalize or Die" and read it to learn about eating more alkaline producing foods. Or you can order it from Amazon too. Also read the Byetta Basics(Frequently asked questions) that is located in box 16 to the right as it has alot of good beginner info. Then you can check out the previous post in Meals, eating, and nutrition to learn more about how alot of us eat. Leah put a list of alkaline producing foods on page 6, I think it is. I hope all this reading info helps you make a decision on what to do and let us know what you decide. I think the spit is the only thing that has offered me hope to eventually get off so many of my meds, in time. (Comment this)
